Ankur Nayar ready for new role
After having portrayed almost all types of characters, Ankur Nayar is now ready to play an obsessed lover in the Sony show Durgesh Nandini as a replacement to Amit Sadh. Ankur says that Kohinoor is his favourite amongst the gamut of varied characters that he has played. He is also happy about his role in Durgesh Nandini as the character has some grey shades. Here's an excerpt of the tete-a-tete we had with Ankur recently.
How
does
it
feel
to
enter
as
a
replacement?
A:
See,
there's
nothing
to
feel
bad
and
as
I
was
familiar
with
the
story,
it
does
not
matter
actually.
I
am
happy
with
the
role.
Tell
us
something
about
the
changing
character...
A:
Actually,
earlier
the
character
was
a
bit
simple
and
was
slowly
falling
in
love
with
Durgesh.
But
now
as
Durgesh
is
trying
to
fool
Sikander
by
showing
false
love,
Kshitij
is
feeling
insecure
and
is
turning
into
an
obsessed
lover.
So,
a
bit
of
a
grey
shade
has
started
to
surface
in
the
character
now.
Did
you
have
to
make
any
adjustments
to
fit
into
Amit's
shoes?
A:
Currently
yes,
for
I
had
to
work
on
the
body
language
and
all,
as
the
role
is
already
set
in
the
minds
of
people
considering
Amit
has
done
it
for
sometime.
But
slowly
and
gradually,
I
will
give
it
my
touch,
attitude
and
body
language
too.
How
is
it
working
with
actress
Rinku
Ghosh,
a
new
comer
to
television?
A:
She
is
a
fabulous
actor
and
has
done
many
movies
in
Bhojpuri.
She
is
a
professional
and
I
never
felt
that
she
is
a
new
comer.
It
is
great
working
with
her.
How
do
you
feel
playing
this
character?
A:
It
feels
great
as
it
has
some
grey
shades,
which
is
neither
totally
black
nor
totally
white,
but
balanced.
It
is
a
grey
shaded
character
with
both
positives
and
negatives
You
have
done
many
serials
like
Reth,
Kasauti
Zindagi
Ki,
Kohinoor
and
many
more.
So,
which
is
your
favorite
role
among
these?
A:
I
have
played
negative
roles
mostly.
But
I
love
the
role
I
played
in
Kohinoor
where
I
saved
the
heroine
and
the
Kohinoor
diamond
in
disguise.
There
I
had
to
portray
many
characters
in
one
role.
Sometimes
I
was
a
South
Indian,
sometimes
something
else.
So
I
loved
that
role
very
much.
Which
are
the
current
serials
you
are
working
on
and
what
are
your
future
projects?
A:
I
am
currently
doing
Durgesh
Nandini
and
Kuch
Apne
Kuch
Paraye.
As
for
my
future
plans,
I
am
already
doing
two
dailies.
So
there
is
nothing
much
till
now.
