Irrfan
Khan
discovered
on
his
trip
to
the
Cannes
Film
Festival
this
year.
The
actor
got
to
meet
his
favourite
actress,
Michelle
Yeoh,
at
a
dinner
party.
Irrfan
plays
a
key
role
in
A
Mighty
Heart,
Michael
Winterbottom's
docu-drama
style
recreation
of
the
abduction
and
killing
of
journalist
Daniel
Pearl,
and
was
in
Cannes
to
promote
the
film
along
with
lead
actress
Angelina
Jolie,
producer
Brad
Pitt,
director
Winterbottom,
actress
Archie
Panjabi
and
Mariane
Pearl.
Dream
come
true
Irrfan
sounds
thrilled
while
talking
about
the
incident.
He
says,
"It
was
a
dream
come
true
for
me
when
I
met
Michelle
Yeoh
for
dinner
on
Tuesday
night
at
the
Carlton
Hotel,
where
she
is
staying.
I
am
staying
at
Hotel
Du
Cap
Eden
Roc
(between
Cannes
and
Nice)
where
George
Clooney
and
Andy
Garcia
are
put
up.
It
so
happened
that
my
favourite
director
Asif
Kapadia
(The
Warrior,
which
Irrfan
has
acted
in)
has
directed
another
film
with
Michelle
(produced
by
Betrand
Faivre,
the
producer
of
The
Warrior),
called
Far
North.
Asif
called
me
over
for
dinner
and
when
I
reached
there,
the
surprise
package
was
Michelle!
I
was
stunned
to
meet
my
favourite
actress."
Irrfan
adds
that
Michell
is
a
fantastic
person.
"She
is
very
pleasant
and
there's
something
magical
about
her.
We
sat
and
chatted
about
various
issues
ranging
from
A
Mighty
Heart
to
Far
North."
Dressing
up
Irrfan
Though
Irrfan
had
walked
the
ramp
with
Jolie
and
Pitt
wearing
his
Armani
suit,
for
his
dinner
date,
Irrfan
says,
"I
wore
casual
clothes.
I
don't
want
to
wear
designer
outfits
all
the
time.
My
manager
suggested
I
should
wear
Armani
as
they
wanted
me
to
dress
for
the
occasion.
It's
important
to
wear
a
tuxedo
on
the
red
carpet,
though
personally
I
am
not
bothered
about
these
things.
It
was
more
important
that
the
message
should
go
across
to
the
audience.
The
book
and
film
is
a
fight
against
ignorance
and
hatred."
And
what
did
Michelle
wear?
"She
wore
a
beautiful
floral-print
gown
in
green
colour," says
a
spellbound
