As the 'Superstar of the Millennium' Amitabh Bachchan lies in the hospital and fans pray for his speedy recovery all across the country a question arises has Big B overworked himself? There may be no correct answer to this question but the fact remains like all human beings our beloved Big B is also showing signs of ageing.
Over the last decade the legendary actor has been as busy as he was ever in his illustrious career. In the last ten years he has worked in a whopping 67 movies which have also included narration and guest appearance. In the same period his nearest competitors Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan have been associated with 46 and 42 projects respectively. Add to this the two seasons of Television show Kaun Banega Cropepati and numerous ad campaigns that he has been a part of. All this has definitely taken a toll on Amitabh's body.
All his contemporary actors like Shatrughan Sinha, Vinod Khanna and Rajesh Khanna have faded away into Bollywood's pages of history but Big B resists to bow down. Be it in Mohabbatein with Shahrukh Khan or in Baghban with Salman Khan he has always given the younger generation a run for their money. Perhaps it is no coincidence that the tinsel town's hottest babe Mallika Sherawat finds Amitabh Bachchan the hottest among all the actors in the industry.
It is a well known fact in the industry how much effort Big B puts behind each role. Be it getting inside the character or shooting stunt scenes Big B doesn't shy away from challenges what many actors half his age would not do. Despite being a superstar Amitabh has always allowed his director to do the talking in the sets unlike some of the marginal stars who suffer from the stardom syndrome.
There was a period in his career when Big B was bankrupt and signing each and every movie that came his way like any normal person would do. That phase is luckily over for the Big B as he was sidelined by many people at that time he had considered friends. Now it seems the superstar has got obsessed with acting and regularly neglecting his deteriorating health condition.
Today his son Abhishek Bachchan has established himself as a frontline actor in the industry and coupled with Aishwarya Bachchan forms one of the hottest couples in Bollywood. Doing close to seven movies a year is not an easy task and certainly not for a person on the wrong side of 60. Perhaps the superstar should consider reducing the work pressure on himself. He has to realise that 66 he isn't growing any younger.
