appropriately
dressed.

Dargah
committee
had
made
it
a
rule
to
let
no
one
enter
the
shrine
in
anything
above
the
knees
for
both
men
and
women.
In
order
to
avoid
further
troubles,

re-shot
the
whole
sequence
and
made
it
a
point
to
dress
Katrina
in
a
full-length
skirt.
A

must
say.
Nevertheless,

Richard Gere Kisses Shilpa Shetty
During an AIDS awareness program organized in Delhi for truck drivers, Hollywood actor Richard Gere kissed Shilpa Shetty on her cheek. A simple act of affection was turned into a gigantic controversy as protestors from some political party made a mountain out of a molehill. The controversy turned ugly as people started burning posters of Shilpa and stalled her film shoots. A land where even talking about 'sex' is a taboo and public display of affection is widely discouraged; Shilpa refused to apologize and stood her ground, stating that she has done nothing wrong and that she has not forgotten Indian values. Sunny Deol was also present at the occasion - amongst all this it was the AIDS campaign, which lost its voice.
Abhishek and his crazy Fan
Abhishek Bachchan, son of Bollywood's Big B, got married to Aishwarya Rai this year. A few days before the wedding, a woman drove up to the Bachchan residence and cut her wrist outside his house claiming that Abhishek betrayed her as he had promised to marry her. However, Police refused to register a complaint against Bachchan, saying the model had no proof of the relationship and could be pulling a publicity stunt. With Aishwarya in the picture, there is no chance for any woman to take over the Bachchan family, that's for sure. Well, the sooner it started it ended even faster, coz' such was the marriage, which was the talk of the town, city, country, rather world at that time.
Bipasha and Ronaldo's alleged kiss
Kiss or no kiss there were some sparks for sure. The Bengali bombshell Bipasha Basu had created quite a sensation in the country with her romantic inklings with Cristiano Ronaldo, the star footballer of Manchester United. How John reacted to the whole situation is still a mystery - not far from guesswork. Since Bollywood thrives on any kind of controversy and news, Bips surely had a tough time during that phase. Although, she never confirmed anything...we are just glad that she is back with Johnny Boy.
Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta, friends turn foes
Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta were close friends; in addition to that, they were even business partners in White Feather Films. The rift between the two was shocking news in the industry, due to which Sanjay Dutt resigned from White Feather Films and started his own production house. There were reports on the rift stating that it is because of Manyata's interference in the production house work that the rift happened. There was even news that Gupta added 1.5 crores and showed as expenses to pay Abhishek and Big B for Shootout at Lokhandwala wherein the reality is the Bachchans had done the film for free. Well if rumors are to be believed then we never have to check facts. As for now, no one actually knows the accurate reason behind the rift but the duo. Therefore, until they spill the beans, you are free to assume whatever you want.
Kareena minus Shahid plus Saif
The vegetarian X-Couple were the hottest buzz in the Bollywood when they were together and even when they went separate ways. Many then said it was a mere publicity stunt for the film, Jab We Met. However, things were evident when Kareena was spotted, not once but a million times with Saif Ali Khan during, dinner parties, in pubs etc. Saif finally accepted his relationship with Kareena at the Lakhme India Fashion Week. On the other hand, you had Shahid going the single way and claiming that being single is the best. Well if that's not obvious then what is?
What we want to see now is whether Saif turns vegetarian for Kareena?
Eklavya, India's official entry for Oscars
It was that time of the year, whereby millions of 'directorial' hearts would be broken to make one heart happy. Every year, movie fans eagerly wait to know as to which film would be selected as India's official entry to the Oscars. And 2007's Oscar entry was Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Eklavya-The Royal Guard. Since the film was not very successful at the BO, many of the industry folks were unhappy with the jury's decision. Bhavna Talwar, director of Dharm was of the opinion that her film deserved to be sent to the Oscars. Many other directors namely Sajid Khan, Anupam Kher, Farah Khan also voiced their opinions to which Vidhu Vinod Chopra also retaliated. After the much 'hue and cry', Eklavya sure did not win at the Oscars but its script was accepted in the Oscar library.
King Khan and his trail of controversies
SRK had millions of reasons for being in news this year, be it for right or wrong reasons, he was on the top. Shahrukh Khan was given a legal notice for smoking in public. The National Organization for Tobacco Eradication issued the notice to Shahrukh for smoking during the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit and at the 20-20 match in Mumbai. After all this, just when Shahrukh took a break and went out with his kids to watch a cricket match, the controversy 'keeda' came running behind him. This time the BCCI objected SRK's presence in the stadium claiming that attending the match was SRK's publicity stunt for OSO. Then he fell in trouble with Manoj Kumar regarding his film Om Shanti Om Although, they discussed things over 'Chai-pani', the "insult" to the yesteryear actor was not taken lightly. The man however managed to steal the limelight from everyone else throughout the year.
Protest against Madhuri's comeback vehicle, Aaja Nachle
Aaja Nachle was Madhuri's comeback film. Something that fans had been waiting for anxiously and impatiently to watch. But the film was banned in Uttar Pradesh on the very day of its release. Mayawati, the chief minister of UP took offence to the lyrics in the title track of the film, stating that the song insults the Dalits and lower class people. The cine goers were deprived of the 'Dhak-Dhak' girl's comeback Jalwa for a while in North India! However, Yash Raj Films did immediate damage control and edited the line from the film. Unfortunately though, the movie remained in discussion neither for its story, nor Madhuri's acting and dancing but only for the controversy.
Aamir's strings of controversies with Faisal Khan and Amitabh Bachchan
Life's signboard changes when new directions are given to it. The perfectionist Aamir's was accused by his brother Faisal Khan of keeping him captive at home and enunciating him mentally ill. Father, Tahir Hussain supported the alleged claims and media was subjected to family matters, which were later dragged to the court. Thus, turning Aamir's life upside-down. Although, Tahir Hussain got Faisal's custody, he has at present asked Aamir to take over his custody.
Adding to this, close to the release of Taare Zameen Par, Aamir voiced his opinions about Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black in an interview. This for sure offended Amitabh Bachchan and thus began a new controversy. However, Big B had an answer for all of Aamir's views. The cold war apparently went on till Aamir visited Big B recently, when Bachchan lost his mother. Despite all these controversies, Aamir remains reigning superstar of Bollywood delivering consistent hits, Taare Zameen Par being the latest.
