Yash
Raj
Films'
Tashan
has
doomed
at
the
box
office
in
its
week.
And
adding
insult
to
injury
the
movie
is
being
compared
to
last
year's
washout
Ram
Gopal
Varma
Ki
Aag
as
one
of
the
worst
movies
ever
made
in
Bollywood.
The
over
hyped
movie
was
expected
to
add
fuel
to
the
industry
with
the
ongoing
IPL
mania
but
it
failed
to
impress
audience
even
in
its
first
week.
Yash
Raj
banner
had
huge
expectations
riding
on
Tashan
after
not
having
had
a
hit
for
almost
a
year.
But
Tashan
will
join
ranks
with
its
cousins
Jhoom
Barabar
Jhoom,
Laaga
Chunari
Mein
Daag
and
Aaja
Nachle
or
may
be
even
outperform
them
on
a
negative
scale.
Chak
De
India
was
the
last
hit
from
the
Yash
Raj
stable.
The
failure
of
Tashan
has
once
again
proved
that
no
amount
of
glamour
and
superstar
can
substitute
a
good
script.
The
director
could
not
have
asked
for
a
better
cast
with
Akshay
Kumar
coming
with
four
back
to
back
hits,
Kareena
after
Jab
We
Met,
Saif
and
Anil
Kapoor
straight
out
of
the
success
of
Race.
But
alas
they
could
not
ensure
even
an
average
run
by
the
movie.
The
script
hardly
had
anything
for
them
to
perform
on.
Vijay
Krishna
Acharya
who
marks
his
debut
as
a
director
with
the
movie
would
soon
want
to
forget
it.
Acharya
who
came
ruled
the
television
with
Jassi
Jaissi
Koi
Nahin
forgot
one
basic
element
of
cinema,
there
is
no
second
episode
to
change
the
course
of
the
story.
Talking
about
story
Tashan
hardly
had
one
and
the
flow
of
it
was
simply
pathetic.
Bikini
shots
and
blond
hair
are
good
for
promos
but
to
cash
on
them
for
the
movie's
success
is
too
much
to
ask
for.
In
the
end
Tashan
is
a
good
benchmark
for
filmmakers
on
what
not
to
do.
Focus
on
good
storyline
rather
than
stars
and
item
numbers.
Yash
Raj
Films
should
rather
run
after
good
writers
and
than
superstars
if
they
intend
not
to
repeat
a
Tashan
in
the
future.
Hope
Thoda
Pyaar
Thoda
Magic
and
Bachna
Ae
Haseenon
will
revive
the
fortune
of
the
industry's
biggest
banner.
