“It was around the mid 70"s that lightening struck and from it emerged Michael Jackson, singing, moving, dancing like he was from some other planet!" This is how Amitabh Bachchan describes Michael Jackson in his latest blog. Big B writes that he was mesmerized by Jacko's brilliance in both music and performance. He added that Michael's body moved like a wound up toy machine. Every conceivable action of rhythm and style was incorporated inside his diminutive form, without any blemish.

Amitabh recalls his first encounter with the King of Pop when he had gone to US for treatment after suffering a life threatening injury while shooting Coolie. Jacko was touring all over America celebrating the success of his album Thriller. He and his brother Ajitabh brought tickets to one of his concerts in Jacksonville Florida and without any planning and hotel reservations landed up there. Big B say loitering all afternoon they found themselves in a huge football stadium.

Big B who had never experienced anything like this before quotes “Music tore our eardrums away and a blinding light from the stage on one end, accompanied by the most decibel led roar from 100,000 strong crowd got everyone on their feet again!! And that is how we remained for the next three hours!!" The superstar adds “Nothing was heard thence, nothing was seen thereafter, nothing but utter.. utter .. halucigenic madness !!"

This was not his last encounter with MJ for sure. The Indian superstar narrates a incident from 1990 when he encountered Michael up close, he writes “The door bell of my hotel room rang, and I sauntered up to open it. There as I stood in the doorway, across me, was Michael Jackson! He looked a little surprised as he turned around to those he was accompanied with and in his now well known soft voice gently spoke up – “Oh! Excuse me! I think I have the wrong room!" Amitabh met Michael the next day and the two had a heary laugh about the incident.

Amitabh who is currently in London concluded by saying “an exceptional artist has gone. Someone that created an almost outer world experience for all of us with his art. When I get back I shall pull out an old birthday party recording of 7-8 year aged Abhishek, dressed like Michael and dancing to Thriller".
