The
Bachchans
have
every
reason
to
celebrate.
Paa
has
brought
joy
to
the
household
like
never
before.
Amitabh
Bachchan
won
National
Award
for
Best
Actor
for
his
performance
in
the
film.
As
if
that's
not
enough,
the
film
bagged
Best
Hindi
Film
award,
Best
Supporting
Actress
for
Arundhati
Nag
and
Best
Make-Up
for
Christein
Tinsley
and
Dominie
Till.
But
why
is
this
year's
National
Film
Awards
so
special,
as
Amitabh
had
earlier
won
Four
(2
Best
Actor
awards
for
Agneepath
and
Black.
Best
Newcomer
for
Saath
Hindustani)
such
awards?
Well,
Paa
is
Bachchan
Family's
baby.
It's
produced
by
its
home
production
banner
AB
Corp
and
Abhishek
Bachchan
took
special
interest.
The
film
is
based
on
a
rare
genetic
condition
known
as
progeria
and
is
all
about
father-son
relationship.
Interestingly,
Abhishek
plays
father
of
Amitabh,
who
is
his
dad
in
real
life.
Paa
also
received
accolades
from
all
quarters
and
did
reasonably
well
at
the
box
office.
Expressing
his
happiness
on
winning
multiple
National
Awards,
Amitabh
Bachchan
wrote
on
his
blog:
“My
most
dearest
and
affectionate
members
of
the
extended
family,
close
to
5
pm
this
evening
the
Government
of
India
announced
the
results
of
the
National
Awards
for
Cinema
and
they
have
decorated
me
with
the
Best
Actor
Award
for
'PAA".
But
that
is
not
all.
'Paa" has
been
victorious
in
a
few
other
categories
as
well.
Best
Supporting
Actress
to
Arundhati
Nag,
Best
Make-Up,
and
Best
Film
(Hindi
).
Four
National
Awards
to
'Paa".
This
is
just
tremendous
!
I
am
delighted
of
course
on
the
results,
but
have
to
say
that
all
this
would
never
have
been
possible
without
the
courage
and
vision
of
one
man
-
R
Balki,
the
director.
It
was
Balki"s
idea
and
thought
that
first
got
me
interested
and
through
several
sittings
we
finally
arrived
at
the
script
and
story
we
wanted
to
make
and
the
results
are
now
there
for
all
to
see.
Thank
you
Balki
for
this
and
come
back
home
soon
so
we
can
sit
and
celebrate!"
