Indian
filmmakers
may
be
struggling
to
pull
a
smile
with
one
film
after
another
failing
to
hit
the
box
office
hard.
Over
a
dozen
of
films
have
been
released
over
the
last
couple
of
months
but
only
a
couple
of
them
did
well
at
the
theatres.
Now,
all
eyes
are
on
Khatta
Meetha,
which
features
Akshay
Kumar
and
Trisha
Krishnan
in
the
lead
roles.
Khatta
Meetha
is
a
remake
of
Malayalam
film
Vellanakalude
Nadu,
which
was
released
in
1989.
It
is
about
a
road
construction
contractor
who
dreams
big.
However,
his
dream
remains
just
a
dream
because
he
doesn't
have
money
to
bribe.
Adding
more
salt
to
the
wound,
his
ex
girlfriend
becomes
the
new
municipal
commissioner.
The
film
promises
good
laughter
with
the
protagonist
running
into
numerous
disaster.
One
of
the
highlights
of
the
film
is
Akshay
Kumar.
He
started
off
his
career
with
action
movies
and
went
on
to
earn
the
title
Action
King.
He
then
ventured
into
comedy
and
earned
the
title
Comedy
King.
After
his
return
to
action
films
turned
a
complete
failure,
he
is
now
back
doing
what
he
is
good
at
–
comedy.
Yes,
Khatta
Meetha
is
a
comedy
film.
Trisha
Krishnan
is
another
attraction
of
the
film.
She
is
the
undisputed
queen
of
South
Indian
cinema
with
many
hit
films
in
her
kitty
but
she
is
a
newcomer
in
Bollywood.
Khatta
Meetha
is
her
first
Hindi
film.
Will
she
make
it
big
in
Bollywood?
This
is
a
question
that
is
in
everybody's
mind.
Khatta
Meetha
is
produced
by
Shree
Ashtavinayak
Cine
Vision
Ltd
banner
and
directed
by
Priyadarshan.
It
also
features
actors
like
Makrand
Deshpande,
Rajpal
Yadav,
Neeraj
Vora,
Milind
Gunaji
and
Asrani
in
vital
roles.
Watch
out
for
this
laugh
riot,
which
is
releasing
tomorrow,
July
23!
