The
fate
of
a
film
depends
on
the
views
of
the
critics
to
a
large
extent.
At
least,
it
determines
the
opening
of
a
film.
Well,
Rakta
Charitra
featuring
Vivek
Oberoi,
Surya
and
Shatrughan
Sinha
would
do
well
at
the
box
office
if
we
are
to
go
by
the
verdict
of
the
critics,
as
it
has
got
good
reviews
from
all
quarters.
Rakta
Charitra,
which
is
based
on
the
true
story
of
gangster-turned-politician
Paritala
Ravi,
has
been
lauded
by
film
critics.
They
are
of
the
opinion
that
it
is
a
well-made
film
in
spite
of
ample
violence,
gore
and
bloodshed.
This
is
what
popular
film
critics
Taran
Adarsh
puts
it:
“Rakta
Charitra
has
a
fascinating
story
to
tell
and
even
if
you
aren't
acquainted
with
Paritala
Ravi,
you
might
identify
with
Rakta
Charitra
because
the
essence
of
the
film
is
revenge."
He
added,
“With
a
title
like
Rakta
Charitra
and
all
the
blood
and
gore
in
the
film,
it's
certain
that
the
film
holds
appeal
for
those
who
like
to
watch
brutality
in
cinema,
which,
in
turn,
cuts
off
a
sizeable
section
of
the
audience
(ladies
and
kids).
However,
from
the
content
point
of
view,
I'd
say
that
Rakta
Charitra
is
the
best
bet
of
this
week." He
however
said
that
'it
is
not
for
the
faint-hearted
or
the
lily-livered."
Another
film
critic
wrote
that
the
film
started
with
a
violent
note
with
lots
of
bloodshed
but
done
so
artfully.
She
added
that
Ram
Gopal
Varma
has
thrown
a
pleasant
surprise
at
the
audience
with
a
film
that
could
evoke
the
emotions.
Well,
the
critics
have
placed
Rakta
Charitra
well
above
the
other
releases
of
the
week
like
Hisss,
Jhootha
Hi
Sahi
and
Dus
Dola.
It
turns
to
be
the
pick
of
the
week.
