Initially, Kareena Kapoor was approached by Madhur Bhandarkar for the female lead in Heroine, but she opted out of the film quoting certain scenes. The speculation of casting of Aishwarya Rai for the film started after Kareena dropped the project. But Aish put all the rumours to the rest by announcing to act in the movie at the Cannes film festival in May 2011.
Within a month after Aishwarya Rai started shooting for the movie Heroine, her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan announced her pregnancy on his Twitter page. Although her pregnancy was a matter of pride and happiness for the Bachchans, the family had to face more criticism than to celebrate it.
This sudden announcement of Aish's pregnancy led to the blame game between the Bachchans and Madhur Bhandarkar. Many in the film industry thought that Madhur would shelve the project Heroine. Although their fight was calmed down after actress Kareena Kapoor accepted the role in Heroine, this issue remained as a black spot in the career of Aishwarya Rai.
When the Heroine controversy was silenced, the focus of the media diverted towards her delivery. Speculation were being made on several issues like delivery date, nature of the delivery (cesarean/natural), sex of the baby, single/twins, Godhabarai function (baby shower), showing baby bump, Bachchan family's wishes for baby (male/female), hospital for her delivery. Among all these, Aishwarya's baby shower event made a big news for a few days.
Apart from this, the date and nature (cesarean/natural) of her delivery were hot subject of speculation for another few days. Many thought these rumours will stop making rounds after Aishwarya Rai gave birth to a baby girl on 16th November, but her delivery issued new aspects to gossip mongers, who created several speculations about name and looks of Aish's daughter.
However, Madhur's Heroine revolves around a character, who is a superstar heroine from Hindi Film Industry. Aishwarya Rai is also a superstar in Bollywood and she has seen many ups and downs in these last six months. If filmmaker Madhur wants to make a sequel to his Heroine, her life in these six months can be a nice subject.
