Hindi
film
industry
had
produced
more
than
130
films
in
2010,
but
many
biggies'
movies
had
suffered
loss
at
the
Box
Office.
The
year
2011
seems
to
be
a
lucky
year
for
most
of
biggies
of
the
Bollywood.
This
year
witnessed
the
release
of
125
Bollywood
movies
and
few
others
are
set
to
release
in
the
next
coming
weeks.
Several
big
budget
films
hit
the
screens
and
they
registered
good
earning
at
the
Box
Office.
This
year,
hardly
any
film
suffered
loss
at
the
collection
centres.
Like
2010,
the
year
2011
also
witnessed
many
romantic,
comedy
and
action
movies.
Apart
from
these,
the
Bollywood
filmmakers
tried
to
experiment
with
other
genres
like
3D
films
(Ra.One
and
Haunted
3D),
crime
and
suspense
thrillers
(No
One
Killed
Jessica,
Murder
2,7
Khoon
Maaf
and
Not
A
Love
Story)
and
few
other
genres.
Most
of
them
proved
successful
in
their
attempts.
In
recent
years,
comedy
has
become
the
most
favourite
genre
of
movie
goers.
The
Hindi
films
of
year
2011
are
not
exception
to
this
trend.
Besides
romantic-comedies
and
action-comedies,
there
were
several
pure
comedy
movies
like
Beja
Fry
2,
Thank
You,
Rascals,
Jo
Dooba
So
Paar,
Double
Dhamaal,
Chalo
Dilli,
Tere
Mere
Phere
and
few
others.
Although
all
of
them
were
not
announced
as
big
hits,
they
managed
to
set
a
certain
records
at
the
Box
Office.
Vinay
Pathak
was
one
actor,
who
kept
on
experimenting
with
comedy
throughout
the
year
and
he
acted
more
than
five
comedy
films
in
2011,
which
were
successful
at
the
Box
Office.
Another
noticeable
thing
this
year
is
new
promotional
strategies.
Many
filmmakers
in
Hindi
films
understood
the
importance
of
promotion
of
the
films.
Many
producer
innovated
new
tricks
of
publicity
and
spent
huge
amount
of
money
for
the
promotion,
which
was
sometime
equal
to
the
production
cost
of
their
films.
Like
every
year,
2011
also
welcomed
several
new
faces
in
the
field
of
acting,
music
compositions,
direction,
but
not
many
could
impress
the
audiences.
Debutants
like
Sachiin
Joshi,
Nargis
Fakhri,
Shubh
and
Chirag
Paswan
created
a
big
buzz
in
the
media.
Senior
actors
like
Pankaj
Kapoor
and
Sudhir
Mishra
also
debuted
as
directors
in
this
year
and
proved
successful
in
impressing
the
mass.
The
year
2011
proved
to
be
favourable
for
superstars
likes
Shahrukh
Khan,
Salman
Khan,
Amitabh
Bachchan,
Ajay
Devgn,
Akshay
Kumar,
Sanjay
Dutt,
Hrithik
Roshan,
Imran
Khan,
Emran
Hashmi
and
Shahid
Kapoor
and
heroines
like
Kareena
Kapoor,
Katrina
Kaif,
Priyanka
Chopra,
Sonam
Kapoor,
Vidya
Balan.
However,
it
was
an
unfavourable
year
for
Abhishek
Bachchan
as
his
two
releases
like
Game
and
Dum
Maaro
Dum
could
not
make
it
big
at
the
collection
centres.
It
was
also
a
great
disappointment
for
the
fans
of
stars
like
Aamir
Khan
and
Aishwarya
Rai
as
they
did
not
have
a
single
release
in
the
year
2011.
The
following
are
some
of
the
successful
movies
of
the
year
2011:
No
One
Killed
Jessica,
Dhobi
Ghat,
Dil
Toh
Baccha
Hai
Ji,
Patiala
House,
7
