7 Khoon Maaf could well be the biggest film ever of Priyanka Chopra's career. She may have already won a National Award for Fashion but those who have had a dekko at the newest offering from Vishal Bhardwaj claim that there is another one just round the corner for the lady. Even as Priyanka dismisses all speculative talks till the film actually hits the screens, one can sense a definite confidence in the air. Our correspondent catches up with the actress on the eve of 7 Khoon Maaf release and explores the various moods that could be up for grabs soon.

'I will drink your blood' - Come on Priyanka, you can't be serious when you say that, right?
(Laughs) Don't be scared, it is an analogy which is being drawn. I am definitely not playing a vampire in the film. This is not a horror story.

Of course, but then the film does seem scary and frightful at times due to its dark mood and setting.
Dark, scary, frightful - now you are using words here (smiles). It isn't any of these. I would rather call it a black comedy. At the core of it, it is an intense love story cum thriller.

Still, can one safely presume that all the talks of being different would indeed come true with 7 Khoon Maaf? After all many claims to be different but that never turns out to be the case.
Well, I should not be saying whether it is different or not. It is people who should be saying that. In any case the word 'different' has been much used and abused. I would rather state that 7 Khoon Maaf is in a space of its own. How are people going to feel being put into that space? I don't know. Let's see.

When so many out there are truly trying to put you in a pedestal and announce that 7 Khoon Maaf seems to be a career defining film, you seem to be utterly modest about it....
Arrey, I am trying to be humble (laughs). Ab main khud to sab nahi keh sakti naa. Would love it when people say all the good things. Having said that, even though I can't be objective about the film because I have spent so much time in it, from sheer experience perspective, I am quite enthralled by 7 Khoon Maaf. I am very confident about it. Beyond that, it is kismat!

On a more serious note though, doesn't it put too much pressure on you to perform because audience doesn't expect anything ordinary from you now?
Actually I don't take such pressure; it is people around me who do. I pick those films which make me feel that 'Ufff, I want to be a part of this film'. Still, I don't ever think that agar yeh role main aisi karoongi toh yeh ho jaayega, woh ho jaayega, life ban jaayegi and all that.

Still, when you do a film like Pyaar Impossible v/s 7 Khoon Maaf, is there a different kind of preparation required? Or is that after working in dozens of films, an actor in you doesn't quite have to prepare herself extensively for a role?
(Says immediately) You still have to do that for each film or yours otherwise you become complacent and lackadaisical. I personally feel that preparation is a very important part of working in any film. You can't say that I don't need it; at least I don't.

But when you have a strong team around you, as in case of 7 Khoon Maaf, and understand that things would be eventually taken care of, don't you ever feel that being spontaneous would actually help?
I don't believe that spontaneity is possible. No matter how many times I may have read the script, I do think about the character before landing on sets. I study it all well, get into the mood and then ready myself for a take. Come on, I work hard on my job, don't make it sound so simple (winks).
