After playing the demure gaon ki gori in Dabangg, Sonakshi Sinha will get into a serious kickass mode for Race 2. The film's producers Tips and director Abbas-Mustan have planned an all-new trendy look for Sonakshi which would make her do a cultural volte- face from Dabangg.
But before Race 2 for which she needs to get into even slinkier shape, there's Joker. Sonakshi has an axe to grind with Farah Khan. Last year Farah choreographed Katrina Kaif and Malaika Arora Khan to on-stage immortality with 'Sheila Ki Jawani' and 'Munni Badnaam Hui'. Sonakshi who got no opportunity to display her dancing skills in Dabangg was eagerly looking forward to her own slice of Farah's sizzle in Shirish Kunder's Joker.
To her dismay, Farah and Shirish have informed Sonakshi that her character gets no chance to dance in Joker. Though no doubt Sonakshi Sinha is the discovery of 2010, in her debut film Dabangg, she did not get to do what he really loves doing.
Sighs, the pretty girl currently in consultation with a battery of dress designers clamouring to create clothes for her for the various awards functions, "I requested Farah to please, please make me dance in her husband's film. But my character doesn't have any dance-able opportunities. Sad. We'll have to wait for another occasion."
Perhaps Race 2, the film that she goes into after Joker will provide her with a chance to sizzle. What Race 2 will definitely give Sonakshi is a chance to do some serious action. "Yes," she says excitedly, "It's a very guns-and-gadgets subject. And I'm looking forward to doing my own dancing."
In the meanwhile, Sonakshi continues to lose weight at a rapid rate. "First I had to lose weight for my debut in Dabangg. Now I've to get into even better shape for Joker and Race 2. For the last two years that's all I seem to be doing. Losing weight. But I am fine with that. Because it's important for me to look good."
Adds producer Ramesh Taurani, "Bipasha Basu was presented in a very striking way in Race. We've to make sure Sonakshi is equally presented in the sequel."
