Amitabh Bachchan to undergo another surgery

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who underwent two operations on Saturday to rectify his hernia said yesterday on Twitter that he will have to undergo a second surgery and added that his stay in the hospital will be prolonged.

It is being reported that Amitabh Bachchan is likely to have developed post-operative hematoma or clotting of blood outside the blood vessels. The next surgery will be Amitabh Bachchan's fifth operation after the 1982 operation (Big B was badly injured during the shooting of his film Coolie). According to medical experts, hematoma is a common complication that comes up post hernia operation. However, in most cases, there is no operation required to treat it.

Speaking about his condition, Amitabh Bachchan had tweeted, “Some more tests... more unpronounceable medication... and... another visit to the OT... operation theatre! Going to be a long stay." He further added, “I have no idea now how long this will take, but it does look as though it will be long... thank you for your prayers and love."

Amitabh Bachchan has put a brave front till now and has been regularly updating his fans on his condition. On Wednesday, Amitabh blogged saying that he will not be able to provide further details since he needs to concentrate on the treatment as some fresh medical issues have come up.

After his first surgery, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted that he was in acute pain. Bachchan has been suffering from many stomach problems since his near fatal intestinal injury in 1982.
