Yash Raj's Ek Tha Tiger (ETT), starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, is releasing tomorrow, 15th August. Since it is Yash Raj's film, also it has our Sallu Bhai in it, the hype is very high.

When you hear about 'Yash Raj Films', a complete picture of beautiful and lively locations, melodious songs, huge star cast and unforgettable romantic stories come to your mind. Yash Raj Films has given few remarkable movies, which are unforgettable.

Yash Chopra, who is founder and chairman of Yash Raj Films, is not only film director, screenwriter, but also a successful producer. His son Aditya Chopra is Vice Chairman of this banner and is also a successful producer, screenwriter and director. Both of them have won many film awards over the years.

All his films, of course, are remarkable and unforgettable but among them five movies (on the basis of cast, songs and story), which has greater impact on the audience with few unknown facts (which many people won't be knowing), are listed here.

Kabhie Kabhie (1976), produced and directed by Yash Chopra, was shot in most beautiful locations in Kashmir. The movie is a love story spanning two generations. It had a huge star cast Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Raakhee, Gulzar, Neetu Singh, Rishi Kapoor, Naseem, Simi Garewal and Parikshat Sahni. It was also said that Yash Chorpa considered Parveen Babi first to star opposite Rishi Kapoor. It was during the shooting of this film where Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh fell in love.

Songs like 'Kabhi Kabhie, 'Main Pal Do Pal' are still hummed by people. Duet version, 'Kabhi Kabhie' sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh, was listed as no. 7 on the list of 100 Greatest Bollywood Soundtracks by Planet Bollywood. Khayyam won Filmfare Award for Best Music, lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi won the Best Lyricist Award and Mukesh won Best Male Playback Singer for the song 'Kabhi Kabhie'.

Silsila (1981), produced and directed by Yash Chopra, is a story of lost and found love. The movie had a tagline ‘Love is faith and faith is forever'. The movie cast included Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar, Jaya Bachchan and Rekha. It was rumoured that the movie is based on real-life love triangle between Amitabh, Jaya and Rekha. For the role of Jaya, Padmini Kolhapure and Smita Patil were considered. Later, Amitabh recommended Jaya and Rekha. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2005), which was made by Karan Johar was inspired by Silsila and was much bolder.

Though the film bombed at the Box-Office, songs like 'Dekha Ek Khwab', 'Yeh Kahaan Aa Gaye Hum' and 'Neela Aasman' became big hit. Who can forget the song 'Rang barse', which is even now remembered especially during Holi! This song was written by Harivanshrai Bachchan and sung by his son Amitabh. 'Dekha Ek Khwab' and Yeh kahaan' songs were partly shot in The Netherlands which was Yash's first overseas shoots. Later shooting in foreign location became a trend.

Chandini (1989), produced and directed by Yash, is a triangular love story. This movie stars Sridevi, Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna, and was very important for all three actors' career. The film won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film of that year. It is also said that Rekha was offered the role of Chandni. But she turned down the offer and recommended Sridevi. This movie reaffirmed Sridevi's position as the topmost female star during 80s. With this movie, Rishi proved that he is a profitable hero, also enhanced Vinod Khanna's career. White costumes, which Sridevi donned, became popular. After Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), it was this movie, which reunited Kapoor and Khanna. Many scenes were shot in Switzerland, which became favourite destination for many Indians.

The film's music became a blockbuster hit in India. 'Mere Haathon Mein', is played in marriages even now. Sridevi ruled with the song which she sung - Chandni O Meri Chandni. 'Main Sasural Nahi Jaaungi', 'Lagi Aaj Sawan Ki' and instrumental songs are few other famous songs.
