NDTV – AINS Rating: 3.5
Hate Story pushes the envelope so hard, all the contents spill out in a torrential tumble of tantalising power-play set within the world of corporate battles and gender conflicts.
Bollywood Hungama - Taran Adarsh’s Rating: 3
Hate Story banks on the age-old vendetta theme, but what takes it beyond the mediocre mark is the cat and mouse game played by the protagonist and antagonist, besides, of course, the bold and provocative scenes that add spice to the proceedings. Though engaging in parts, there's no denying that the second hour seizes your attention, making it a watchable experience.
Times of India - Srijana Mitra Das’ Rating: 3
Hate Story exposes a lot - underneath Delhi's surface, that is, not really, as the adverts so tantalizingly showcased, of leading lady Paoli Dam. The film instead blows the top right off the dirty deals, the, well, intercourse between different power spheres ruling India's capital - business, politics, journalism, police, all meet in this slick flick.
Glamsham - Martin D'Souza’s Rating: 2.5
Hate Story is neither spectacular, nor boring. It falls somewhere in between.
Oneindia Rating: 2.5
Though engaging in parts, there's no denying that the second hour seizes your attention, making it a watchable experience.
Koimoi - Mrigank Dhaniwala’s Rating: 2.5
The explicit scenes; the drama in the second half; Gulshan Devaiah’s performance are good. The predictable screenplay; the absence of any high points in the drama; a few unintentionally funny scenes; the slow pace of the narrative are bad. Overall, Hate Story is an average fare at best.
Mid-Day - Shaheen Parkar’s Rating: 2
The film is based on Vikram Bhatt's story and it looks like he is hellbent on proving to his uncles Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt that their well-known mix of revenge, hate and abundant skinfest he can do better.
Daily Baskar - Daily Bhaskar’s Rating: 2
Predictable storyline and loosely weaved thrill will undoubtedly act as a hindrance for Hate Story. However, spiced up thrilling experience in patches, might be a reason to push yourself towards ticket window. Our final word - Stay away from Hate Story and look around for the donor, who might grace you with few funny moments, if not steamy scenes.
Rediff - Raja Sen’s Rating: 1.5
Despite its bold promos, Hate Story offers very little skin show.
