The Khans of 2012

The Khans have been ruling the industry for the past few decades and their dominance is seen even now. It is evident from the fact how the movies of two Khans - Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan - Ek Tha Tiger and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, respectively, were received by the audience.

How can we leave our perfectionist! Yes, though Aamir Khan's Talaash was not widely accepted by many as the movie was slow paced, people liked the plot and Aamir's acting in the movie.

When there are Khans in a film, audience blindly accept their movies - be it Shahrukh, Salman or Aamir. All three Khans ruled the second half of 2012. So did our Chote Nawaab Saif Ali Khan with Cocktail.

Other Khans - Arbaaz Khan, Imran Khan and Irrfan Khan were also praised for their work. Arbaaz Khan directed, produced movie Dabangg 2, which starred him and his brother Salman Khan in the lead, released recently, received mixed reviews.

Ek Tha Tiger was Salman Khan's first collaboration with producers Yash and Aditya Chopra. Sallu and Katrina's beautiful chemistry was well praised in the movie, which also pulled the crowd to theater. The film gained mixed reactions from critics. It was declared as ‘All-time Blockbuster' and joined 100 crore club by collecting 199 crore (net gross) in 5 days.
Dabangg 2, starred Sonakshi Sinha opposite Salman, which collected 100 crore in 6 days.

Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan's Jab Tak Hai Jaan was Yash Chopra's last directorial venture, which was declared as Box Office hit. The film starred Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. Shahrukh's looks and performance as an army officer were praised by audience. The movie received mixed reviews from critics in India. It is the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time overseas. The movie collected 120 cr (nett gross) in 11 days and joined the elite 100 Crore Club.

Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan's Talaash received mixed response from the critics. Though the movie was slow, Aamir's acting was praised by audience. The movie directed by Reema Kagti starred Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor. It collected Rs 68.07 crores at the desi Box Office in the first week but failed to surpass Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic Box Office in the second week. It collected Rs 90.25 crore in 4 weeks (domestic nett).

Saif Ali Khan

Cocktail starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty in lead roles. The movie received mixed reviews from critics and it emerged as Box office hit both in India and abroad. It collected Rs 78.25 crores nett in the second week of its release.
Saif Ali Khan's production and starrer movie Agent Vinod, received mixed reviews. It collected Rs 54.6 crore throughout its run. The movie was declared flop.

Arbaaz Khan

Arbaaz Khan's directorial debut Dabangg 2, which starred him and his brother Salman Khan in the lead, released recently, received mixed reviews. Not only Salman, Arbaaz Khan's performance and direction were also praised by audience. He knows what Salman's audience wants and showed the same on screen. The movie entered 100 crore club within six days of its release by collecting Rs 100.78 crore.

Imran Khan

Imran Khan starrer Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu was produced by Karan Johar and Hiroo Yash Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions and starred Kareena Kapoor. Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor were praised for their performance in the film. The film got a decent opening at the Box Office. It collected 40.41 crore (domestic nett) and earned moderate box-office success.

Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan starrer Paan Singh Tomar is based on the true story of an athlete Paan Singh Tomar. The movie directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia was critically acclaimed and emerged as a superhit at the Box Office. Irrfan was praised for his wonderful performance in the film. It is also said that after the success of Paan Singh Tomar, Dhulia still considers Irrfan as his lucky charm. It was made with the budget of Rs 8 cr and collected Rs 38.4 cr (domestic net).
