Saif Ali Khan's parents Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi tied the knot 43 years ago, it was not only a marriage of cricket and cinema, but also one that broke many stereotypes. He was a Nawab from a well-known Muslim family and she was a Hindu who belonged to Rabindranath Tagore's family. He was India's finest cricket captain, while she was the first Indian actress to ever appear in a bikini on screen.

Just like an ideal husband, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi always stood by Sharmila Tagore, be it her wearing a bikini in An Evening In Paris in 1967, when they were courting, or taking up glamourous roles after marriage in 1969.

On the other hand, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor fell for each other during the shooting of Tashan. Reports of affair between Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan first surfaced when the two were shooting for Yash Raj Films' Tashan on locales in Ladakh and Rajasthan.

In 2008, Saif announced that he would marry Kareena soon. In 2010 he said, "I would certainly be getting married in the next three to four years. Right now, we have our individual careers to look out for." Finally, the couple tied the knot on 16th October, 2012.
