Sonakshi
Sinha
and
Ranveer
Singh
cried
on
reading
the
script
of
their
film
Lootera,
which
is
adapted
from
O'Henry's
classic
story
titled
'The
Last
Leaf'.
Sonakshi
and
Ranveer
were
so
moved
by
the
story
of
Vikramaditya
Motwane's
film
Lootera
that
they
wept.
Sonakshi
Sinha
plays
the
role
of
the
female
protagonist
in
the
film.
O'Henry's
'The
Last
Leaf'
is
a
story
of
a
dying
girl
who
believes
that
she
would
die
when
the
last
leaf
from
the
tree
outside
her
room
falls.
In
order
to
give
it
a
feel
of
a
Bollywood
film,
Motwane
wrote
the
complete
script
for
the
first
half
of
Lootera.
However,
he
kept
the
second
half
the
same
as
'The
Last
Leaf'.
The
character
of
the
male
protagonist
has
also
been
added
by
Motwane
in
Lootera.
Speaking
about
Vikramaditya's
effort,
producer
Vikas
Bahl
confirmed
that
Lootera
is
based
on
O'Henry's
touching
story
and
added
that
it
has
been
beautifully
fleshed
out
by
the
director.
He
also
mentioned
that
due
credit
will
be
given
to
the
author
of
the
story.
While
the
original
story
of
O'Henry
is
set
in
the
early
20th
century,
Lootera
will
be
set
in
the
1970's
and
the
second
half
of
the
film
is
being
shot
in
Kashmir.
