Is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan feeling conscious about her weight?

Today, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a name that every Indian woman identify with. In a world where an actress and a former beauty queen is assessed by her hot and glamorous looks, Aishwarya dared to step into the world and even walk the Cannes red carpet post her delivery and weight gain.

Aishwarya has so far maintained that being plump doesn't bother her and she never endorsed size zero. In reply to the media's excessive talk about her weight gain, Aishwarya once remarked, "I am a mother. This can happen and it has happened with me and it's fine (weight gain)."

Aishwarya slowly became an 'idol' that every woman and especially young mothers began identifying with. However, her recent public appearances make us wonder whether the media pressure is bogging her down and she too like the rest of the glamour world is being dragged into the so-called 'perfect' body image and the race to slim down.

Whether it is dressing herself in black, fully covered gowns or hiding her chubby cheeks with her lovely hair, Aishwarya seems to have found her own way of hiding her weight from public glare. In her recent advertisement in Kalyan jewellers, it seemed pretty evident that her weight was toned down. Some even claimed that her pictures were not original and has been tampered with to make her look slimmer. After one year of delivery, the country still seems obsessed with her weight gain. Would it be possible that Aishwarya herself hasn't been able to accept herself completely in her new avatar?
