The first half of the year 2014 is over. The year till June was a mixed bag as we saw small, big and medium budget Bollywood films on-screen. While some movies ruled at the box office, some stood at average and a few bombed at the box office.
Many movies have entertained, some won hearts and some made us say, WTF! For example, 2 States entertained us which is adapted from Chetan Bhagat's bestseller book of the same name, 2 States. Queen was a sensible movie which won millions of hearts and brought back Kangana Ranaut with a bang! Sajid Khan's latest release Humshakals has really made us say, WTF!
When we talk about box office collections, movies like Jai Ho, Queen, Humshakals, Highway, Ragini MMS 2 and many more have been good grossers. However, there are very few Bollywood movies which have released in the first half of 2014 that had a good story, cast, direction and music. For example, Highway is one of the most talked about movies of 2014 till now. Alia Bhatt who delivered two big hit films in the first half of 2014 has got many accolades for her role in Highway. Her next big release was 2 States where she played a Tamilian Brahmin girl who falls in love with a Punjabi guy (played by Arjun Kapoor).
