Bollywood Celebrities' Twitter Greetings For Guru Nanak Jayanti

Today is Gurpurab - the birth anniversary of Sikhism's founder, Guru Nanak Dev, he was the founder of Sikhism and the first of the Sikh Gurus. His birth is celebrated world-wide on Kartik Puranmashi and even our Bollywood celebrities joined the celebrations this time.

Bollywood celebs are very gung ho about the social medium and so have always used to this platform to wish their fans and friends on important days like festivals etc. On Thursday morning too, most of the Bollywood celesb took to Twitter to wish Guru Nank Janti to all their fans.

Even Prime MinisterNarendra Modi greeted the nation on the occasion of birthday of Guru Nanak Dev. "I bow to the venerable Guru Nanak Devji on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. The life and teachings of Guru Nanak Devji inspire us eternally. Let us follow the path of compassion, truth and peace as shown by him," he tweeted.

He added, "Today is also a day to pledge to embrace the path of service and work towards a just and equal society, free from any kind of social evils." On the occasion of Gurupurab, devotees throng to Gurudwaras to pay homage to their gurus. Akhand Path is also performed at Gurudwaras.

It is part of Sikh religious belief that the spirit of Guru Nanak's sanctity, divinity and religious authority descended upon each of the nine subsequent Gurus when the Guruship was devolved on to them.

Therefore this day is a very auspicious day for not just Sikhs but the entire country as well. Bollywood industry is a strong believer and so many Bollywood celebrities too will head to the Gurudwaras today to seek blessings of Guru Nanak Dev.
