The movie making process is not an easy one, it takes a lot of time for the director and producer to finalise the star cast, the script and location etc. Once this job is done, the shooting starts and again the filming process will consume time depending on the storyline. But a number of Bollywood projects get delayed for months and sometimes years.
For example Sanja Leela Bhansali's conceptualized Bajirao Mastani when he was filming Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, but the project never took of as he was waiting for the right time. His ideal pair for the lead roles were Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai but due to their bad break, Sanjay could never cast them and so the project could never see the day light.
He even cast Kareena Kapoor opposite Salman, but finally with the success of Ram-Leela, Sanjay could again see his Bajirao Mastani in Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. The project is finally taking off so we are eagerly awaiting the realease of this magnum opus.
Similarly Shuddi too is stuck due to casting problems, Karan Johar wanted Hrihtik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor in the leas but Hrithik's constant health problem has put the movie on back burner. It is said that owing to Ranveer and Deepika's on screen success even Karan has decided to cast them as the lead in Shuddi but with Sanjay's movie taking off, the lead pair is not able to provide dates to Karan.
There are many films like this which have left the audience in anticipation ever since their announcement. Today while every other weekend witnesses the clash of big ticket releases, these much awaited films are just taking too long to even finalize their cast or start production. We draw a list of films which you have been eagerly waiting for...
Mr. India 2
Undoubtedly one of the most memorable films of our times, no one can ever possibly forget the stellar performance of Amrish Puri in the legendary role of Mogambo. In March 2012, producer Boney Kapoor announced the sequel to Mr. India to be titled Mr. India 2 and featuring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi reprising their roles from the original film while Salman Khan and Arjun Kapoor is supposedly casted in negative roles and is to be shot in 3D.
Ever since the announcement of its release date, Karan Johar's ambitious project has had a very troublesome start with its leading cast opting out of the film. Amid speculations of Hrithik Roshan walking out of the film followed by Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, Dharma is yet to finalize the lead cast for the Karan Malhotra directed film.
Although it has been in the news for almost two years now, Tigmanshu Dhulia is yet to finalize the male lead for the film. It all started by Imran Khan walking out of the film followed by Prateik Babbar, Shahid Kapoor and as it was last reported Varun Dhawan too. Even its female cast involved names such as Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha and Shraddha Kapoor. However they're yet to lock either of the leads. We're eagerly waiting for the film.
It has been a long time since we heard of Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar coming together for a joint venture reportedly titled Badtameez Dil. The film which had an original cast of Imraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor was to bring the pair on screen for the first time. However with Kareena opting out of the film, there was no news about any development related to the film. Do we need to tell you how excited we were for this joint venture?
No Entry Main Entry
In July 2012, the Anees Bazmee directed sequel of No Entry was announced and since then we're yet to hear any news about it. While he is almost set to retain the male trio of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan, the film is about to have as many as nine heroines. With majority of them yet to be finalized, it would be interesting to see who gets picked by the director.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
After his announcement last year of a comeback with Salman Khan after nearly a gap of 15 years, Sooraj Bajatya recently announced the title of the film. With a lot of speculations about who is going to be the leading lady romancing Salman ranging from Kareena to Deepika, Barjatya finally settled with Sonam Kapoor. Having given one of the biggest hits of their careers together such as Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain, we're really excited for the film to release.
After giving us memorable films such as Mr. India, Bandit Queen and Elizabeth, the extraordinarily talented director Shekhar Kapur finally announced his next directorial venture Paani late last year after a gap of almost seven years. However it too seems to be taking a long time since the announcement of its release. The film starring Sushant Singh Rajput is said to be set in 2050, where international corporations control the source of water due to which people are suffering from acute crisis.
