Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan are coming together for the third time with the film Happy New Year. It is all about musical heist.

The curiosity which it created after the trailer release where we got to see a huge lock was simply awesome. Heist films are very popular in Hollywood than Bollywood. It is quite engaging and keeps the audience guessing, Happy New Year falls into that genre with some music and dance added according to Indian taste.

Happy New Year is an action comedy film by Farah Khan. It has an ensemble cast which includes Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Jackie Shroff, Vivaan Shah and Boman Irani.

The central theme of the movie may be the heist - a formula used often in Hollywood and Bollywood - but Farah says there are things that set her movie apart from what the audience has already seen in the genre. Farah Khan says, "Heist is a genre, it's a formula, just like love story and romance is a formula...the obstacle lies in how you make it and how you add your own twist to it."

Dhoom Series

It is one of best movies based on heist in Bollywood. The film revolves around a cop and his side kick mechanic who helps to nab the gang who tries to rob. Dhoom which was out in 2004 was followed by a sequel Dhoom 2 in 2006 and then another sequel Dhoom 3 in 2013.

Players featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Bipasha Basu, Bobby Deol, Sikander Kher and Omi Vaidya in lead roles, while Aftab Shivdasani in a cameo was a thriller based on heist.

This was an official remake of the Hollywood flick Italian Job.

Tees Maar Khan

This is an official remake of an Italian film, After The Fox. Akshay Kumar plays the conman who robs a non-stop train loaded with antiques. Katrina Kaif played the female lead.

Special 26

This is a thriller heist directed by Neeraj Pandey. The film featuring Akshay Kumar is inspired by a real-life heist on 19 March 1987 where a group posing as CBI officers executed an income tax raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Mumbai.

Aankhen

This film also has an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Sen is based on a Gujarati play Andhalo Pato (Blindman's Buff).This film received a lot of critical accliam and was a big hit.
