Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan has reached her 66th year on Wednesday and this is definitely a day to cherish for the Bachchan family.
Considered as one of the most versatile actress of her era, Jaya Bachchan has been known for her simplicity and natural style of acting. Jaya Bachchan made her debut in films at a very tender age with the movie Mahanagar directed by Satyajit Ray.
Later in 1971, Jaya was first seen on the commercial screen with the film Guddi which proved her potential in acting. The lady then impressed all with splendid performances in several films like Uphaar, Koshish, Kora Kagaaz, etc. and became one of the most sought after actresses during those days.
Jaya has also played opposite to her husband Amitabh Bachchan in several movies including Zanjeer, Abhimaan, Chupke Chupke, Mili and Sholay, all were block-busters. However, Jaya almost took retirement from Bollywood after becoming mother but past many years the actress made a comeback in the industry with some hit movies like Fiza, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Kal Ho Naa Ho.
Jaya had a wonderful filmy career and has been a proud winner of several awards including all total six Filmfare Awards, three for Best Actress and three for Best Supporting Actress and thus, became the most awarded Bollywood actress, other than Nutan.
Moreover, Jaya was awarded with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 and also was honoured with Padma Shri award in 1992.
