When we talk about comedy, Riteish Deshmukh is the first actor who comes to our mind. Riteish is one of the Bollywood actors who has established his name in the comedy genre. Everything about Riteish is just perfect; his dialogues, timings, expressions and gestures can add the fun filled entertainment in the movie. Riteish will be seen in 2 back to back releases this month. First the actor will be seen in his patent comedy role in multi-starrer Humshakals, and then in Ek Villain.
However, Riteish Deshmukh has recently gone over his comedy genre and is going to be seen playing the role of a villain in the upcoming movie, Ek Villain. Here is an exclusive interview with the expecting father, Riteish Deshmukh who will be taking the box office for 2 back to back weeks with movies Humshakals and Ek Villain.
Grand Masti, Humshakals, Ek Villain and Lai Bhari shows different characters. Are you trying to change your image?
I do not do films to change my image. I do films as they are special to me.
Sajid Khan says you are his lucky charm. What do you think?
We would come to know only on 20th June. Sajid and I are very close friends and we have grown up together watching movies together. We have been friends since 6-7 years, and this is my 4th film with Sajid.
Again you will be seen in a female clad role in Humshakals. How do you prepare yourself to play the role of a woman and where do you get the expressions from?
It is very difficult to play the role of a woman. One way is to make a man look like a woman. However, I play as if I am a girl. In Apna Sapna Money Money, my whole body was covered, but in Humshakals, I had to wear swimming costume. Saif told me that when we cross-dress, we have to hide many things which becomes really difficult in beachwear. So, we had to wax our hands and legs. We have 3 hot actresses in the movie so I wanted to leave them behind with my look without crossing my limits. I think every man wants to do this but they are scared to do it, or do not wish to do it. I feel you as an actor must do it.
Which comedy actor inspires you? What is your take on Saif's comic role?
Govinda is the best comic actor in the industry. I have worked with Saif for the first time and he is a very good actor whose comic timings are excellent.
Humshakals and Ek Villain are releasing back to back this month. How are you feeling?
My role in Ek Villain is very new and different as I have never played such a character before. I was a little worried as both films are releasing together. But the way Ek Villain is promoted, I am happy that people are considering it differently. So, I am less worried now. I wanted both the movies to release at a gap of one month, but the movies are releasing one after one. I hope people like it.
Your role in Ek Villain is very different. How difficult was this character for you?
My role in Humshakals was more difficult than Ek Villain. Thankfully with the help of Mohit Suri, I had a really good experience. I was really excited about my character.
Do you want to work in the sequel of Grand Masti?
I really enjoyed working in Grand Masti. We even crossed many limits and I am really happy that the film crossed 100 crore. As of now, If I do get some different script, then I would definitely do it.
While shooting Ek Villain, you and Shraddha used to talk a lot in Marathi.
Shraddha and I only used to speak in Marathi, and she is very fluent in it. That is not all, we even talk to Akshay Kumar in Marathi only. It feels good to talk in this language.
How interested are you in politics? Do you plan to become a part of it?
I keep interest in politics not because I want to become a part of it, but to stay updated on the current affairs.
You are playing the role of a villain. Have you ever felt a villain inside you?
I think every person can kill the other one. But there is some goodness within you which stops you and makes you release that it is wrong. Few people lose their logical sense and commit such mistakes. Our society to is based on what is right and what is wrong. For the first 2 days of shooting, I did not realise that I can hurt someone.
Any Bollywood villain who inspired you for Ek Villain?
Shahrukh Khan's role in the movie Darr really inspired me.
