Screen Awards matters to Bollywood stars a lot because it is a great encouragement as well as a strong career boost for them. This time, both veterans and upcoming actors have deservingly found their space in the 20th Screen Awards.
The Best Film Award went to Bhaag Milkha Bhaag for an outstanding portrayal on the life of athlete Milkha Singh.
Shahrukh Khan, the King of Bollywood, won the Best Actor (Popular) Award for his outrageously humorous performance in Rohit Shetty's commercial potboiler, Chennai Express.
Farhan Akhtar won the Best Actor (Jury) Award for the movie, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
Deepika Padukone won the Best Female Actor award for her high dramatic and intense performance in Ram Leela- Goliyon Ka Rasleela, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Madras Café, directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by its lead actor John Abraham, won the award for Best Action Film.
Shilpa Shukla shared the award for Best Actor in a Negative Role with Veteran Rishi Kapoor. While her impressive villainous act in B.A. Pass got her the award, Rishi Kapoor earned it for his dazzling villain in D Day.
Saurabh Shukla, who made the role Judge Tripathi in Jolly LLB unforgettable, won the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the same.
Swara Bhaskar, who delivered a charming performance as Dhanush's childhood friend Bindiya in the movie Ranjhanaa, got the Award for Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role.
Special Jury Award went to Anand Gandhi, screen writer and director of the off-beat film of year, Ship of Theseus, which swept all the critics off their foot.
Sushant Singh Rajput won the Best Male Debut Award for his performance in Kai Po Che, film based on Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel 'Three mistakes of my life'.
Richa Chadda is chosen as the Best Female actor in a comic role for her performance in Fukrey.
Arjith Singh won the Best Singer award for his song 'Tum Hi Ho' in Aashiqui 2.
Shahrukh Khan's Red Chilies Entertainment earned the best VFX awards for their eye popping special effects in Hrithik Roshan starrer, Krrish 3.
Ronnie Screwvala won an award for Special Contribution to Bollywood films.
And, Lifetime Achievement Awards went to Amitabh Bachchan for his tremendous contribution in the Bollywood industry.
