The trend of making sequels is picking up in Bollywood as it helps the filmmakers to encash from the success of the prequels, which raked in the moolah and their characters left an impression over audiences. This forces the producers to create a franchise out of such characters.

Some sequels fail at the box office, while others lived upto the expectation of the audience. Film Singham Returns is the most awaited sequel of the year. Director Rohit Shetty has teamed up with actor Ajay Devgn once again after delivering their first 100 crore grosser Singham in the year 2011.

Seems like the era of making sequels has begun in the Hindi film industry. And sometimes, the sequels over power the original film. The first weekend collection of the film was of 530 million which was more than the collection of the film Krrish.

Film was declared the blockbuster hit of the year 2013, after its three week long run at the box office. Movie earned total of 1.09 Billions on the last day at the box office.
