Did you know that Aditya Chopra initially wanted Hollywood actor Tom Cruise to play the role of Raj, as he wanted the film to be about a relationship between an Indian and an American. But Yash Chopra did not like the idea and told him to cast some Bollywood actor.

After this, Aditya approached Shahrukh Khan for this role, who said no to it as he thought the character is too girly. It is said that Aditya then convinced Shahrukh and said that he can never become a big star unless he becomes every woman's dream man.

Finally, after four meetings, Shahrukh said 'Yes' to play the role of Raj in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.
