Ranbir Kapoor And 9 Bollywood Celebrities Who Refused To Promote Their Films
Bollywood actors are often touring the country on promotional activities, the more people are aware of your movie, the more viewers they pull into theatres.
You must have observed the different promotional strategies the makers come up with these days in order to promote the film. From over using social media to spreading rumours about the lead cast of the film, makers can resort to any level for their film to click.
So what happens when the lead cast of their film refuses to promote their film? Well, it turns into a controversy and in return gets the film even more recognition.
Recently a similar situation occurred with Roy movie when Ranbir Kapoor refused to promote the film saying that he plans a cameo role in the movie and that the main lead Arjun Rampal should be promoting the movie extensively.
A source said, "Since its a cameo, Ranbir doesn't feel the need to publicise the film. It's Arjun Rampal's film, so Ranbir prefers that Arjun take charge of the promotions. Ranbir has fulfilled his commitment."
So Ranbir steered clear of any promotional activities. Remember Humshakals movie? When Bipasha Basu furiously commented on the movie and backed out of all the promotional work.

Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir felt his role was just a cameo and so Arjun Rampal should take over the promotions of the movie Roy as he is the main lead of the film.
Bipasha Basu
"This is to put an end to all the discussions around my absence for Humshakals' promotions." said Basu. "I take full responsibility of getting into a film only on the basis of trust. But after dubbing for my character in the film, as I had professionally committed to do so I'm extremely disturbed by the end result of the same... In these circumstances I didn't know how to promote a film with all honesty and that's why I thought it was better to stay away." she added.
Akshay Kumar
Owing to a fallout with Joker director, Shrish Kunder, Akshay stopped promoting the film all together. Shahrukh Khan had to step in to do the needful.
Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha being close to Akshay Kumar decided to follow suit and didn't promote Joker as well.
Kangana Ranaut
Kangana was disappointed with Ekta Kapoor for including three item numbers of Sunny Leone, Priyanka Chopra and others. She felt she was side lined and so did not promote the movie.
Irrfan Khan
Irrfan Khan felt his role in Haider was way too small to be promoting the movie. He had told the director that he doesn't want to be associated with any promotional activity.
Kareena Kapoor
When she did Milenge Milenge she was dating Shahid Kapoor, owing to the break up she backed out of promoting the film as well.
Shahid Kapoor
Shahid Kapoor also backed out of promoting Milenge Milenge for the same reason. Owing to the bitter break up with Kareena, he too got busy with Mausam and ignore all the promotional work.
Uday Chopra
Uday Chopra was absent from the promotions of Dhoom 3 as well. Reasons for this is unknown.
Abhishek Bachchan
Abhishek Bachchan said the reason he and Uday are not promoting the songs is because no song is featured on them and that they have no issues with the movie.
