Bombay Velvet's trailer got launched yesterday, the movie has obtained mixed reviews from people. While some liked the whole feel of the movie boasting off about Karan Johar's acting prowess, some felt the trailer was long and uninteresting.
Bombay Velvet stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka
Sharma, Karan Johar and Kay Kay Menon in pivotal roles.
Directed by Anurah Kashyap the movie was supposed to star Shahrukh
Khan or Aamir Khan in the lead roles but unfortunately Anurag could
not convince either of them to accept the role.
The movie is based on historian Gyan Prakash's book Mumbai
Fables.Prof Gyan is a historian specializing in Modern Indian
History at Princeton, he has written a story about the journey of
Bombay in the 1960's.
It is a story of a cage fighter, Johnny Balraj, and an aspiring
jazz singer, Rosie, and how their dreams collide with the realities
of life. What more, the leading couple of the movie will also be
seen doing some heavy love making scenes.
If sources are to be believed then Ranbir and Anushka will share
more than seven steamy lip-lock, the source said, "There will be
seven kisses between Ranbir and Anushka. They look electrifying
together and Anurag Kashyap has made good use of their crackling
The movie is spread over 20 years and depicts the growth of each
character like how Rosie will go on to become rich and famous. The
movie seems to be quite interesting but sadly has received a lot of
negative reviews criticizing each and every aspect of the movie
like Anushka's barbie doll looks, Karan's over the top expressions
But personally l feel the movie is intriguing and will be a sure

Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in the role of a cage
fighter Johnny Balraj who often dresses up in a grey suit and
Anushka Sharma will be seen in the role of a Jazz singer whose
name is Rosie Noronha and who is in love with Ranbir.

role as the media mogul, Kaizad Khambatta in Bombay Velvet.

Rs 90 crores.
Thelma Colbert Schoonmaker is an American film editor who has
worked with director Martin Scorsese for over forty years and
Bombay Velvet team has roped her in to edit the film.
The trailer has kept the viewers confused on who the real
villain is. While it has always been portrayed that Karan Johar
will be playing the antagonist character, we saw Ranbir threatening
to kill Anushka's character. So there might be a big twist in the
Ranbir Kapoor revealed that the movie will have the feel of
famous gangster movies like Godfather and Scarface. And to
keep it as real as possible, the makers have shot majority of
Bombay Velvet at real locations in Sri Lanka rather than built up
