At that time Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was dating Salman Khan and a big fight between them (Aish and Salman) happened on the sets of Chalte Chalte. Rumour has it, after this fight Shahrukh told Aishwarya to leave the film.
After this incident the two stopped talking to each other. But it is said that Shahrukh Khan's wife Gauri personally spoke to Aishwarya and asked her to come to her home Mannat and clarify things with Shahrukh.
