GiMA Awards 2015: Ricky, Shahid, Celebs On Red Carpet
GiMA Awards 2015 took place last night. Global Indian Music Awards witnessed a number of celebrities from both music and acting field.
Grammy award winner, Ricky Kej too made his presence felt. This Bangalore based singer won the won the Best New Age Album trophy for his 2014 release Winds of Samsara at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.
Shraddha Kapoor who debuted in singing also won an award, he was nominated for her song Galliyan from Ek Villain which helped her win the Best Celebrity Singer award. Her mother too was present at this special occasion, celebrating her daughter's achievements.
Another feather on her cap was that her song Galliyan also won the Most Popular Song on Radio award.
Bangalore based artist, Raghu Dixit who composed the music for Bewakoofiyaan also won an award but not for the movie but for his album. Yes his album 'Jag Changa' won the Best Folk Album of the Year award at the GiMA 2015.
A R Rahman who is usually not spotted at award shows was also present to collect his award, he won the Best Fusion Album of the year for Coke Studio at MTV Season 3.
Zakir Hussain, the veteran tabla player who is a global icon today was honoured at GiMa Awards 2015. He was given the Global Musician Honour, this just adds to a huge list of awards he has won in the past like Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan.
All in all, Global Indian Music Awards was a night of glitz and glamour, thanks to a number of Bollywood actresses who stole the limelight at the red carpet event, dressed in their designer outfits.
