Today is World Cancer Day,an important day that gives us a unique opportunity to raise awareness that there is much that can be done at an individual, community and governmental level, to harness and mobilize these solutions and catalyze positive change.
A number of Bollywood celebrities support this cause and have stood by it in order to spread awareness about different kinds of cancer that exists today.

Barbara Mori who debuted in Kites was diagnosed with cancer at a very early stage. After taking treatment the actress recovered in 2010.
She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 42 years. The entire nation was shocked but the actress was brave and fought the disease away. Ever since she has been associated with many NGO's supporting the cause.
The actress cum model was diagnosed with multiple Myeloma in 2009. In 2010 the actress announced she was free of cancer owing to her stem cell transplant treatment.
Not many know this but the director suffered from acute promyelocytic Leukemia (a type of blood cancer) in the year 2004. Doctor's said he had just three months to live but the brave man fought the disease for three years with treatment and now he is healthy and strong.
The gorgeous Mumtaz was also not spared, she fought the breast cancer when the actress was diagnosed at the age of 54 years.

In 2008, the 32 year old Sikh actress was diagnosed with breast cancer. After fighting the disease renowned docu-drama ‘1 a Minute' to spread awareness about the disease.
