Many people think that Akshay Kumar fell for Twinkle Khanna, while shooting for a film with her but in reality he developed an instant liking for Twinkle when he shot for Filmfare magazine with her. That is when they met for the first time.

However, Twinkle did not give any attention to him, so during the shooting of International Khiladi Akshay did everything to win her heart and he succeeded too. The next thing that he wanted to do was to marry Twinkle but the diva was not ready for it.

During a candid chat with film-maker Karan Johar's show Koffee With Karan, Akshay revealed that his darling wife was very confident about Mela as it starred superstar Aamir Khan and said that if the film didn't work, she would get married. Mela flopped and the rest is history!

''We've been married for 12 years. And it's been a great journey. Twinkle's a strong-headed person. Every relationship goes through its ups and down; some differences do occur. As a normal couple, we have our share of quarrels. We even go on dates. Twinkle and I were never possessive of each other earlier, neither are we so now,'' Akshay had told Filmfare.
