At the age of thirteen, Chopra moved to the United States to study. After three years, Chopra returned to India and won the local "May Queen" beauty pageant. Later, her mother enrolled her in the Femina Miss India contest in 2000, where she became the second runner-up.
After winning the Femina Miss India World title, Priyanka Chopra then participated in the Miss World pageant, where she was crowned Miss World 2000 and Miss World Continental Queen of Beauty-Asia & Oceania at the Millennium Dome in London, on 30 November 2000.
And not to forget, Priyanka Chopra was the fifth Indian contestant to win the Miss World at that time. The diva, who was a brilliant student, left her education after winning the Miss World pageant.
After becoming Miss World, Priyanka Chopra received many offers from Bollywood. In 2003 she made her Bollywood debut with Anil Sharma's drama film The Hero. The same year, she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for the film Andaaz (which also featured Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor.) And the diva never looked back!
