Emraan's kissy prank on Nisha

Emraan Hashmi, recently played a prank on his leading lady, Nisha Kothari, while shooting for Killer. He told the directors Raksha Mistry and Hasnain Hyderabadwala to tell Nisha that they'd added a kissing scene between her and Emraan to a scene.

A nervous Nisha puckered up and waited and waited, but the kiss didn't come. Instead everyone around her cracked up. Read on to find out how this prank played out...

Says Raksha, "Emraan has the reputation of being a serial kisser so when we approached Nisha for the film initially, she was very scared and said she wouldn't do any kissing scenes with him. While we were shooting for a song and some action scenes in Film City recently with Emraan and Nisha, Emi came and told us that we should play a prank on Nisha."

Nisha was stunned
So the actor and the director duo decided the plot for their plan, "The scene required a bullet to whiz towards Nisha, and Emraan grabs her and rolls to the ground. Emi told us to tell Nisha that after he rolls to the ground and Nisha turns towards him, he would then grab her and plant a kiss. Nisha was scared when we told her, but she didn't say anything.

The shot happened and Nisha rolled over and waited and waited for the kiss... but it didn't happen! She looked stunned and couldn't figure out what happened. Finally, she realised the joke was on her when all of us burst out laughing. We have decided to keep that stunned look in the film. It's beautiful!"

Ice-breaker

Emraan Hashmi is shooting in London now for Aditya Datt's next film, when we contacted him. He says, "The prank was a way of breaking the ice between Nisha and me. Nisha seemed a bit apprehensive of my kissing image and used to look at me like this monster has come on the sets. She had shot for five days before me and then I came in.

I had never met her before that. But when she looked at me, I knew what she was thinking. Earlier, she had made some comment about me and my kissing image, so I decided to play a prank on her. As the scene grew nearer, Nisha got more perturbed. But when I didn't kiss her, she didn't know what to do."

Other than that there is a debate raging on the sets of Killer, whether Emraan should kiss in the film or not. Given Emraan's new "I don't want to kiss stand," would the actor refuse if the directors asked him to kiss? "No, it's their decision as a creative team. If they ask me to run naked, I have to! I have to be clear about what they want."

Says Nisha Kothari, who is shooting for Ram Gopal Varma's Shiva in Bangkok, "When I started the film, the only thing I asked my directors, was if there would be a kissing scene, and they said no.

Then, when suddenly during shooting, they told me about the kissing scene with Emraan. I was extremely apprehensive till I found out they were playing a prank. I was so relieved!"
