It seems that films like Fire and Girlfriend, have opened doors for films based on alternate sexuality. Very soon, Perizaad Zorabian might just be playing the role of a lesbian in an English film titled When Kiran met Karen. The film is set in New York. It is about an Indian woman, living in New York who discovers another facet to her sexuality. She has an affair with a Chinese woman. The film will be directed by New-Jersey based Manan Katohora.
Perizaad still has to complete the paperwork regarding the role. From what we hear, the director of the film was greatly inspired by Brokeback Mountain. Perizaad is quite excited about the role, although she still has some apprehensions about the so called 'bold' scenes. She will only do them once she is completely comfortable.
Another film based on lesbianism is in the making. Titled Can't Think Straight, it will be directed by award winning author, Shamim Sarif. Lisa Ray is in talks to play the lead.
