OSO, Saawariya wins the cricket match

We have repeatedly seen how different factors are blamed for damaging the business of movies. And more often than not, it's the 'poor' game of cricket which has to bear the brunt.

Well, these are mere excuses. Good, well packaged movies have always demonstrated that if the audience has to throng the theatres it does so, irrespective of how attractive an alternate entertainment is. This fact has been confirmed once again as the all important and exciting cricket match between India and Pakistan, failed to make a substantial dent into the business of Om Shanti Om and Saawariya.

As per the data available with us, both the movies recorded good collections, and even during Sunday's match, most shows of both the films were houseful. Obviously and expectedly, Shahrukh Khan's Om Shanti Om was the front runner and by a significant margin.

If we go by trade estimates, in just 3-days Om Shanti Om and Saawariya (combined) have netted a whopping 30-crore plus, just from India!
