National
award
winner
Madhur
Bhandarkar
may
have
impressed
the
critics
as
well
as
the
jury
with
his
hard–hitting
films
like
Chandni
Bar,
Page
3
and
Traffic
Signal
but
there
is
no
denying
the
fact
that
he
has
yet
to
taste
big
commercial
success
that
will
put
him
in
the
league
of
the
Priyadarshans
and
the
Anees
Bazmees
of
Bollywood.
His
first
big
budgeted
venture,
Aan
-
Men
At
Work
with
top
actors
like
Akshay
Kumar,
Suniel
Shetty,
Shatrughan
Sinha
failed
to
make
any
impact
at
the
ticket
window.
Even
Corporate
which
starred
frontline
actress,
Bipasha
Basu
tanked
and
his
last
film,
Traffic
Signal
may
have
won
him
a
National
Award
but
it
too
sank
without
a
trace.
This
time
around
Bhandarkar
is
the
joint
producer
(along
with
UTV
Motion
Pictures)
and
is
pumping
in
a
lot
of
money
on
his
high
budgeted
(18–20
crore)
Priyanka
Chopra
starrer,
Fashion.
So,
should
we
expect
a
reversal
in
fortune
for
Madhur?
Well,
as
per
a
reputed
trade
expert,
going
by
the
excellent
response
to
the
promos
as
well
as
its
music
album,
it
seems
like
Madhur
is
on
track
to
taste
his
first
big
commercial
success.
In
fact,
from
the
trailer,
the
film
looks
like
it
is
packed
with
all
the
masala,
including
emotions.
Since
no
one
has
made
a
film
on
the
fashion
industry
before
this,
it
should
also
have
the
novelty
factor
going
in
its
favour.
