Preity
Zinta
has
been
off
the
B-Town
radar
for
a
while
but
now
she's
ready
to
bounce
back.
Now
it
looks
doubtful
that
a
film
like
The
Last
Lear
and
the
upcoming
ones
like
Samir
Karnik's
Heroes
and
Deepa
Mehta's
Heaven
on
Earth
will
propel
her
back
to
the
top
spot.
After
big
disasters
like
Jaan-e-Mann
and
Jhoom
Barabar
Jhoom,
this
dame's
been
out
of
the
game
for
too
long.
She
has
been
busier
with
other
things
(like
IPL,
being
with
boyfriend
Ness
Wadia
etc).
Now
she's
been
going
around
saying
that
she
feels
a
'karmic'
connection
with
Punjab
since
she's
playing
Punjabi
characters
in
two
movies
a
battered
Punjabi
housewife
from
Canada
in
Heaven
on
Earth
and
a
girl
from
Punjab
village
in
Heroes.
She's
reportedly
said,
"Apart
from
owning
the
IPL
team
(of
Mohali),
I
have
now
portrayed
two
faces
of
a
Punjabi
woman.
Therefore,
I
feel
a
'karmic'
connection
with
Punjab."
There's
buzz
that
Preity
worked
a
lot
to
speak
proper
Punjabi
in
the
films.
Well,
it
will
be
interesting
to
see
the
cosmo
Pahadi
dame
do
authentic
Punjabi
acts.
She
said
she's
particularly
proud
of
Heaven
on
Earth
which
is
based
on
real
life
stories
for
which
she
met
affected
women
as
part
of
her
homework.
It
seems
she's
inspired
a
lot
by
her
rumoured
best
friend,
the
Bachchan
bahu
(remember
Provoked
and
Ash's
family
'bonding'
ways).
Preity
also
didn't
forget
to
add
that
from
now
on
she'll
focus
on
characters
which
are
closer
to
reality
even
while
remaining
in
the
mainstream,
commercial
format.
It's
apparent
that
after
being
a
biggie
in
B-town
for
long,
Preity's
in
no
mood
to
give
it
up
so
soon.
That
very
well
explains
the
upcoming
wise
choices
of
roles.
Now
whether
it
will
help
her
in
the
long
run
or
not
is
another
story
altogether!
