'Gangster' Shiney's prison mate is Abu Salem

Life can at times be ironical and Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja will know it best. Shiney who had delivered his first blockbuster Gangster impersonating underworld don Abu Salem will be have Salem as his prison mate. Shiney will server his term in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail where Salem himself is awaiting trial.

Shiney who has been booked for raping his maid servant was sent on a 14-day judicial custody till July 2. This was a relief of sorts for Shiney as the Mumbai Court rejected prosecution's plea for an extension of police custody for the actor. They had argued that further investigations were necessary to prevent the accused from tampering with evidence and influencing witnesses.

In 2006 when Shiney's Gangster was to be released Abu Salem's lawyers had raised objection complaining that the movie was based on the real life events of Salem and wanted a ban on the screening of the movie. Mahesh Bhatt the producer of the movie denied any parallels with Salem's life and the gangster's lawyers had to withdraw their complaint.

Shiney had played a dreaded gangster Daya Shankar madly in love with Kangana Ranaut in the movie. This plot was strikingly similar to Salem's affair with Bollywood actress Monica Bedi with whom he was arrested in Portugal. Well it is very much likely that 'Real Gangster' and the 'Reel Gangster' will come across each other in the next 14 days.
