Did Susanne use the media to save her marriage?

I don't want to be quoted is what Susanne Roshan told early yesterday morning when asked about her walking out on Hrithik's home. Later that day, she reached a reconciliation of sorts with her husband. Did she want the news to go public to save her marriage?

A lot can change in a day. 24 hours earlier, when this reporter wanted to speak to Susanne about moving in to her parents' home following differences with her husband Hrithik Roshan, the star wife remained unavailable for nearly four hours. Susanne shifted out of the Roshan residence three days ago.

What neither the couple nor their respective families could achieve in the last two months, yesterday's walk out finally did. The drama began late Monday night when Hrithik landed from South Africa (where he was shooting for an ad film) and received our text message about his wife's exit from her sasural. The wheels were set into motion.

The actor went straight from the airport to Sanjay Plaza (Sanjay Khan's residence) where his wife was staying and put her on line with this reporter. What was surprising, was the fact that Mrs Roshan did not issue any denial.

"Where do you hear these things?" she asked. "Hrithik and I are happy. I don't believe the rumours about Barbara Mori." Then came the most unexpected request from Sussa- nne. "I'm telling you all this but I don't want to be quoted on anything," she added. Why did she not want to refute rumours of trouble in her marriage is something only Susanne can explain When this reporter spoke to Hrithik, he stated, "I'm on the top and there are people who want to pull me down. I have been linked to many heroines earlier but none of it is true."

That night, Hrithik stayed over at his in-laws' place and the couple talked all night. The husband confessed that he had wronged her and the loving wife agreed to forgive him. Together, they decided to make it work before the news damaged either of their reputations. Susanne decided to talk on record to some media persons that all was well in her life. But the mystery remains as to why Susanne refused to be quoted if things were fine between Hrithik and her. And why she chose to do exactly that, the following day.
