Anil
Kapoor
has
bought
the
remake
rights
of
Walt
Disney
Productions'
Jamie
Lee
Curtis-Lindsay
Lohan
starrer,
Freaky
Friday.
He
will
produce
it
under
his
banner
and
it
will
star
his
daughter
Sonam
Kapoor.
The
comic
drama
revolves
around
a
mother
and
daughter
whose
personas
get
interchanged.
Reveals
a
source
close
to
the
actor,
"When
he
was
in
Los
Angeles
recently
for
the
wrap-up
party
of
his
TV
series
24,
Anil
met
up
with
Disney
officials
to
discuss
the
deal.
It
was
his
beti
Sonam
who
suggested
that
he
remake
the
film.
Just
the
paperwork
needs
to
be
signed.
The
film
will
start
this
year-end,
once
all
the
negotiations
are
complete."
Who's
the
momma?
While
Sonam
will
play
the
daughter's
role,
Anil
is
keen
to
have
Kiron
Kher
play
the
mother's
part
(played
by
Jamie
Lee
Curtis).
"Kirron
has
turned
down
the
role
citing
date
problems
but
relations
between
the
Khers
and
the
Kapoors
have
been
strained,
and
that
could
well
be
the
reason
for
this
snub.
The
other
names
that
the
actor
is
toying
with,
are
Rekha
and
Shabana
Azmi.
The
film
will
be
directed
by
Priyadarshan."

Freaky
Friday
Tess
Coleman
and
her
teenage
daughter
Anna
simply
cannot
understand
each
other's
preferences.
On
a
Thursday
night,
they
have
a
big
argument
in
a
Chinese
restaurant
and
everything
soon
changes
when
two
identical
Chinese
fortune
cookies
cause
mayhem.
The
next
morning,
a
Friday,
gets
freaky
when
Tess
and
Anna
find
themselves
inside
the
wrong
bodies.
As
they
adjust
with
their
new
personalities,
they
begin
to
understand
each
other
more
and
gain
a
little
newfound
respect
for
the
other's
point
of
view.
But
with
Tess's
wedding
coming
up
on
Saturday,
the
two
have
to
find
a
way
to
switch
back
--
and
fast.
