Amitabh takes a dig at Aamir

By Raymond Ronamai

Some section of the media reported that Aamir Khan's Delhi Belly did much better than Amitabh Bachchan's Bbuddah - Hoga Terra Baap. This seems to have upset the superstar. He took a dig at Aamir by claiming that both the films failed to make a good start. He however said that his film Bbuddah picked up well later.

DB is good in select multiplexes and overseas pockets only. At 25-30% it has had a weak start in metros like Calcutta (10% in some cases), Jaipur, Pune, Surat and emerging Hindi metros like Kanpur and even Bombay is nowhere near as expected with Saturday collections clocking barely 25-30% bookings at multiplexes like Fame Adlabs still. Tickets are readily available most everywhere," he wrote on his blog.

Bbuddah did not have a great opening on Friday morning either, as had been pointed to by IBOS reports earlier. The difference is Buddah"s picking up faster. And on Saturday itself Bbuddah will bypass Delhi Belly in a lot of the stations. Amitabh Bachchan films for example rarely do great business in Chennai but Bbuddah is going toe to toe there with the Aamir Khan production now (DB opened well in Chennai). Hema Malini also may have something to do with Bbuddah"s boost there as opening in Chennai was good for BHTB on Friday itself," he added.

The wrong reports by some section of the media has not gone down well with Amitabh. He said the media has been repeatedly taunting his modesty. He added that his will is not to succeed but to go on.
