Freida Pinto's 'desi' tadka!

Life for the gorgeous Hollywood actress Freida Pinto is something that every pretty girl wanting to enter the limelight would envy. Freida was a simple girl until Slumdog Millionaire happened. The film, directed by acclaimed British director Danny Boyle managed to win eight Oscars and suddenly Freida was a 'Hollywood star'! The rags-to-riches tale, shot against the backdrop of Mumbai slums made her an overnight star. She was rumoured to have dumped her long time fiancee Rohan Antao soon after the film became a box office hit and moved on with life as her link up with co-star Dev Patel became headlines.

Inspite of being an Indian, Freida Pinto soon came to be associated with Hollywood rather than Bollywood cinema and was blamed for looking only towards the west. However, her fans in India are now in for a pleasant surprise. Freida Pinto will be seen in a film titled Trishna where she will play the role of an autoriksha driver's daughter. This tragic love story, based on the novel 'Tess Of The d'Urbervilles' by Thomas Hardy is being directed by Director Michael Winterbottom'. The film will be premiered at Toronto film festival, scheduled to be held in September.
