Imtiaz Ali directing Ranbir Kapoor again in 2 States?

After the successful opening of the movie Rockstar, Imtiaz Ali is reportedly gearing up to direct actor Ranbir Kapoor. According to sources, the Bollywood director would work with the star in Sajid Nadiadwala"s upcoming movie 2 States, which was to be directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, who left the project midway.

Sources say that Ranbir Kapoor is convinced about the capabilities of Imtiaz Ali after working closely with him in the film Rockstar. Now, he is said to be trying to convince producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Imtiaz Ali to join their hands for the upcoming movie 2 States. Sources also claim that Ranbir will start working on 2 States after completing his next movies like Barfee and Yeh Jawani Jai Deewani.

However, the film 2 States revolves around the story of a north Indian guy, who is in love with a south Indian girl. Ranbir Kapoor is playing the north Indian guy in the movie. Earlier, Shahrukh Khan was to play the lead in it, but the project was put on backburner when Vishal Bharadwa left it midway.
