After actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stepped out of Heroine because of her pregnancy, the makers of the film Madhur and UTV were left with a few options. Madhur was even thinking of shelving the project, but UTV stressed on doing the film with some other heroine. Reportedly, the makers had only actress Vidya Balan, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra as their options for this ambitious project.
While Vidya was busy with Milan Luthria's The Dirty Picture and Priyanka did not want to do the film as it was kind of similar to Fashion, it was only Kareena who could have done justice to the lead role in Heroine. Kareena, who has a jam-packed schedule with films like Bodyguard, Agent Vinod and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Part 2, tried hard to fit in time for Madhur's Heroine. UTV thank her efforts by paying Rs 8 crores for the project.
Siddharth Roy Kapur of UTV Motion Pictures and actress Kareena Kapoor refused to comment on the matter.
Actress Kareena Kapoor has proved it again that she is one of the most anticipated Bollywood actress. Reportedly, the actress had demanded Rs 10 crores for playing the lead role in Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, however she has settled down at rupees 8 crores, which makes her the highest paid actress in Bollywood.
