'Kolaveri di' rights: Akshay Kumar edges out Shahrukh Khan

Akshay Kumar has edged out Shahrukh Khan over the Hindi rights of this year's sleeper hit 'Kolaveri di' track. The Khiladi has beaten the King of the Bollywood, who was also in the race for the remake rights, by successfully bagging the rights of the Tamil song.

Reports say that Akshay Kumar, like many others, became fan of 'Kolaveri di' and considering its popularity, he decided to acquire the rights of the Hindi version. On the other end, Shahrukh Khan also liked the song after Karan Johar praised the track on Twitter.

In the process, SRK approached Rajinikanth but little less he knew that Akki had sensibly contacted Dhanush through his associates and sealed the deal. 'Kolaveri di' is a Tamil track from the forthcoming movie 3. The song composed by newcomer Anirudh is written and crooned by Dhanush.
