Vidya Balan spotted smoking cigarette

While the debate is still going on if smoking scenes in films should be censored, actress Vidya Balan has gone ahead smoking a few cigarettes – of course only for her role in The Dirty Picture. Sources said that she decided to smoke real cigarette to give an authentic look to her role.

Vidya has not smoked both on screen and in real life but she had to hold cigarette for her role as Silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture. Sources said that she ended up smoking a few cigarettes by the time the director Milan Luthria okayed the shoot. It added that the shooting of the film had to be stopped for a few minutes, as the actress felt giddy after smoking.

The Dirty Picture, produced by Ekta Kapoor, is one of the most-awaited films of the year. It is based on South Indian glam doll Silk Smitha.
